Over 10 Years of Experience Teaching Kids and Young Adults
The BETA Children’s Martial Arts Program was established in Washington DC by Master Instructor and Former WKA Thai Boxing World Champion Nakapan Phungephorn. He and his wife, Melanie, share a lifelong passion for teaching martial arts to children of all ages.
In response to the growing need of youth programs in the district, Program Director and Instructor Melanie Phungephorn has integrated a character development system that has proven itself, time and again, to produce respectful and productive children.

Your Child Will Be Training At The Finest Facility In Washington DC

Your children will refine their martial arts skills in the safety and comfort of our spacious 5,000 square foot child development center. BETA Academy has 5 training rooms fully equipped with the finest training equipment including premium heavy bags, speed bags, and children’s fitness training tools designed to help them increase balance and coordination.
Changing rooms, lockers and showers are also available.
We are located in the basement level of the Calvary Methodist Church, which is conveniently located less than two blocks away from the Columbia Heights Station (on the Washington DC Metro Rail’s Green Line).
We are not only within short walking distance of the metro; we are also less than a block away from the Columbia Heights shopping district that contains a Best Buy, Target and a Pot Belly Sandwich shop, among many other stores and restaurants.
In this area, there is plenty of street parking. Parents may also park in the enclosed, public parking garage of the shopping center, for only $1.00 per hour.
